Brave New World
Brave New World (2025), Acrylic on 3D canvas. 50×50 cm (20×20 inches).
‘Brave New World’ is an optimistic vision of the future, meant to bridge the gap between our present and future selves and humanise the future, making it more tangible.
A lot of the time, we tend to dehumanise something we deem “futuristic” or “more advanced”; we make it cold, technological, sterile almost, and I think that’s wrong.
Regardless of technological advancements, humans of today are no different from humans 300 years ago. We all share similar dreams across time, same desires, same fears…we all love, laugh, and live - and humans of tomorrow will be the same.
I believe the same can be said for other cultures out there in the universe.
“Life is woven of little moments in time.”
At our core, our soul, we are no different, none of us. So this painting is meant to show us that. Two little girls from different worlds who are not that different after all; they’re both enjoying the most mundane and unappreciated everyday thing - an ice cream.
They remind us that life is made of little moments in time - like enjoying ice cream with a friend on a hot summer day. Even in the future, when technology advances and space travel becomes as mundane as taking a bus, life will mainly consist of those little moments. We should cherish and appreciate them.
